A Short History of Hillside, Mitchell Avenue, Ventnor,
Isle of Wight.
Introduction.
The major refurbishment of 'Hillside', in the spring of 2009 has
resulted in a renewed interest in the history of this imposing
building.
Records from the archives and memories of the past owners of the
house and residents of the town have been used to compile an
interim account of its history.
We will over the following months publish sections of our
findings - and would be pleased if comments would support or
contradict the findings - so the future eventually will know as
much about the past as possible.
